From the recording What the Heart Confides
The lyrics to Change can be traced back to 2018. During the Spring of 2020 we were in the midst of a changing world. A friend mentioned how sad and concerned she about what was happening. Linda also felt the pain and uncertainty of the times. Instead of focusing on the sadness she wanted to write something upbeat, uplifting and unifying.
Again going into meditation and automatic writing, the words arrived. However this song was a bit different. Linda was inspired to use the cut up technique made famous by David Bowie for many of his classics. From her original lyric sheet, Linda cut up each line of the lyrics. Gregg and Linda, randomly selected the pieces of paper to create the song. Using this cut up technique completely transformed Change!
