Inspiration comes from the most simplest things in life. We had a rose bush that never bloomed. The buds would seem to be lost to the landscaper's weed whacker. Each time we had a new bloom, we'd find the bud on the garden floor.
In late September, 2021 the rose bush bloomed again. At that time we were well on our way into recording the songs that would make up What the Heart Confides. We thought it was odd that the rose bush would bloom so late in the season. It had never done that before. At the same time, we had to say goodbye to our beloved cat, Phoebe. The day she passed, the first bud ever reached its height of beauty. "Late September's Rose" was a phrase that came to mind. With that, September's Rose became our artist name in honor and remembrance of our girl. The above picture is the actual photo of the inspirational rose.
The name allowed us to create something beautiful out of a time of sadness.
