From the recording What the Heart Confides
Movin' On dates back to 1992. Linda's melody and lyrics didn't seem to fit with the music of the time. The lyric sheet was rediscovered many years later during the process of recording What the Heart Confides. Gregg's finger picking guitar style sets the mood for trusting one's intuition despite self doubt.
Gregg wrote and arranged the string section performed by Kathryn Attard that adds depth and musical color.

Lyrics
Gimme some time to think this over
You know I'm not really so sure
That it's meant to be.
Though I see lighting flashing,
It’s screaming at me telling me to go.
And I feel the thunder raging it’s warning me
I’m waiting for the crash.
In my mind this all makes sense
Taking the steps towards a dream
But shadows unveil our darkest fears
That keep me from where I ought to be.
When the days pass into hours, my friend
And you see the setting sun,
When the voices inside of my head subside
That's when I'll be movin' on.
I see you in the dark just beyond the storm
Heading for the light
I’m picking up the pieces of my innocence
That lead me back to where I ought to be.
In my mind this all makes sense
Taking the steps towards a dream
But it's the vagueness of the truth I fear the most
That keeps me from my destiny....
And I’m movin’ on
Into the brand-new day
I’m walkin’ the path that’s mine
The dawn will light my way.
And I’m movin’ on
Into the brand-new day
I’m walkin’ the path that’s mine
The dawn will show me the way.
Cause in my mind this all makes sense
Taking the steps towards a dream
And it’s the truth I seek
That’ll lead me to my destiny.
And it’s the truth I seek
That’ll lead me to my destiny…
To my destiny…
It’s where I ought to be.
